Sales Director
Location: Remote (U.S.) | Type: Full-time, Exempt
About This Role:
Zelus Automation Platform (ZAP) is looking for a driven Sales Director to help lead the next phase of our growth.
This is a senior individual contributor role, ideal for a sales professional who thrives in a startup environment, is energized by building new markets, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You’ll own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and outbound outreach to closing — while also playing a key role in shaping our sales strategy, messaging, and foundation.
You’ll work directly with our marketing and product teams to influence branding, sales materials, and campaign development to drive results.

Responsibilities
New Business Development & Pipeline Generation
- Drive new client acquisition by leveraging your existing network and expanding into new accounts.
- Prospect, engage, and nurture relationships with financial institutions across the U.S.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to build a healthy pipeline quickly by proactively setting meetings and pursuing opportunities.
Sales Process Ownership
- Own the complete sales cycle, from lead generation to contract signature.
- Deliver customized demos, proposals, and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Navigate complex buying groups and manage multi-stakeholder sales processes.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Partner with marketing and product teams to co-develop outbound campaigns, messaging, and sales collateral.
- Identify gaps in our current sales assets and help drive the creation of new materials needed to win deals.
- Execute targeted outreach strategies aligned with broader go-to-market initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, product, and leadership to influence brand positioning, customer messaging, and overall go-to-market strategy.
- Provide real-time feedback from the field to inform product enhancements and marketing initiatives.
Sales Systems & Process Building
- Help lay the foundation for scalable sales processes, systems, and reporting as we grow.
- Bring best practices from previous experience to help mature our sales organization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of B2B software sales experience, ideally selling to banks.
- Demonstrated success building pipeline and closing new business, particularly in early-stage or growth-stage environments.
- Strong understanding of banking workflows, core systems (Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS, etc.), and regulatory environments.
- Rolodex of financial institution contacts and the ability to generate meetings quickly.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and proactively influence marketing, product, and brand strategy.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel 30–50% to meet with clients, prospects, and attend industry events.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Close.io) and virtual collaboration tools.
Bonus Points:
- Prior experience selling fintech solutions that integrate with the Jack Henry core banking systems.
- Background in a true startup or high-growth fintech environment.
